Website Transfer and Buyout
If a client chooses to cancel service or move their website to another provider, Webmasters Desktop, LLC will not provide direct server access, hosting account access, database access, source code access, or administrative access to our internal systems.
The client may hire a third-party provider to recreate, extract, or rebuild the visible website design using publicly available website content, images, layouts, and front-end elements.
Webmasters Desktop, LLC is not responsible for the work, cost, accuracy, or results of any third-party extraction, rebuild, or migration.
Website Buyout Fee
If the client wants Webmasters Desktop, LLC to prepare and provide website files, design assets, content, or reasonable export materials for transfer, a website buyout fee applies.
Unless otherwise stated in writing, the standard website buyout fee is $1,500.
What the Buyout Fee Covers
The buyout fee covers reasonable preparation of transferable website materials.
It does not include server access, proprietary tools, internal systems, licensed software, reusable code libraries, custom backend systems, hosting infrastructure, or third-party licenses that are not transferable.
Balances Must Be Paid
All outstanding invoices, hosting fees, service fees, and project balances must be paid before any transfer materials are released.
Invoice and Proposal Summary
Website ownership and transfer: If service is cancelled, the client may move or recreate the website, but direct server access is not provided. A third party may rebuild or extract the visible website design independently. If Webmasters Desktop, LLC is asked to prepare website files or transfer materials, a standard $1,500 website buyout fee applies. All balances must be paid before any materials are released.
